I went there with my little brother on a Friday night.  It was still early, around 8pm, but they already had a good wild crowed. Everyone was very nice and polite, and always with a smile on their faces.  This is very rare this day, and we stand for a very short time in line to get some machines coins to play.  We walked around watching the tourists and local equally having fun weather they were at the tables or at the slot machines.  The waitress where asking us if we need it anything without been on your face.  We try a couple of drinks and my brother and I specially enjoy their tropical drinks. Don’t ask me what I had, they where so many that I can’t remember! The night we went there was a private party at their VP section.  It looked really good!  The people where eating and drinking, salsa dancing, you could see they were having the best time. Also, the music at the casino was very good, it has the best on tropical music and reggaeton, and I was dancing while at the slot machines!

I asked to our waitress what kind of parties they held there and she said anything is welcome.  You can have your wedding reception, birthday party, bridal shower, anniversary party, Christmas party; just any private parties can be done.  We got a bit hungry, so we order some nacho, and they were soooo good!  They were hot, crunchy, a bit spicy, and very inexpensive. They also have specials and promotion through the night for those who are interested on more for their money.

 If you have already wandered around the city, and find you wanting to step into the wild night, Calle Uruguay is the place to go.  Calle Uruguay is a street with the most trendy and funky night clubs in the city.  From a DJ to live music it is sure you will find something to satisfy your craving for night life in Panama.

People Bar:  For those wanting to explore their wild side, why not try some salsa dancing!  Every Wednesday night, salsa dancing is the main attraction at People.  On weekends you would not only find the beautiful people of Panama gathering in this night club, but a DJ would be spinning the latest of Reggaeton, hip hop, and electronic music.  The party starts after 11pm.

Sahara:    This restaurant and bar is the ideal place to enjoy during the week nights.  Live music is played from Wednesday to Saturday, although a DJ is also playing on the weekend.  Sahara has a great atmosphere, friendly people, and you won’t only enjoy great food but also dancing that can be done at the bar.  You cannot miss their outdoor patio and the 80s music that they play. Enjoy the fiesta!

Moods:  It is a great little place where there is not cover on Wednesday nights.  Moods has a great music selection of diverse variety from reggaeton to salsa and everything in between.   It is not too crowded on the weekend and it is a good spot for people watching.  Put on your best party dress and come to play.

One:  The newest addition to the hot nightclubs in Panama for the party monster who likes to try new places.   It has a nice lounge area and nice attentive people working to give you the best time.  Best of all, there is no waiting list like in the other more selective places.   This is the place to find great looking girls in Panama, or even some well concealed escorts.

Anemos:  Swanky night club, where you find something unexpected:  open space.   Anemos is not the most budget friendly place to drink, but it is absolutely worth going.  Watch out for the wild party girls, Panama women are everywhere. With exquisite red couches and a bohemian look, you can sit outside, at the lobby, or dance inside.  It is like a dance party all night long in this singular night club.

The Londoner:  A British pub right here at the heart of Panama City.  The bar has a great selection of imported beer and the service is great.  This is the place if you want to enjoy your draft in peace.  And of course, fish and fries are in the menu to enjoy with your favorite beer.  And the best is that you can book your private party here.

Unplugged:  It is not as swank or luxurious as the other bars and night clubs.  However, it has a nice vibe to their shabby furniture and pool table.  A little off place, it can get lost between the more flashy places around.  Not the typical panama fiesta, but a nice change for the most bohemian crowed.

Casco Viejo is the name given to the old quarters of Panama City.  It was founded in 1673; after Panama Viejo (Old Panama) was destroy by the pirate Morgan.  Today, you can enjoy the remains and legacy of the diverse Spanish, American, French, neoclassical and art nouveau architecture, that made Casco Viejo a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Today, Casco Viejo is undergoing a new face lift to restore the city to its old glory.  Many works has been done thanks to the donations of public and private entities.  These renovations of historic buildings and houses give an interesting look for museums, embassies, churches, private’s home, and even the Presidential Palace.

When you are in Casco Viejo, you can’t skip the night entertainment that is rising from the ashes of this historic place.  They are many places to visit where you can go and enjoy great food or even try some salsa dancing.

For some formal dining you can try Las Bóvedas, which has great food. It is a very interesting building because you will be dinning in an old colonial dungeon and is located at Plaza de Francia.  If you want to try something more informal restaurant go to Cedro’s, which carries local food like patacones (fried plantains), arroz con pollo (chicken and rice casserole), and ropa vieja (delicious meat stew), located next to the Hotel Central in Central Avenue.

For night life entertainment my favorite spots are Platea and La Casona de las Brujas.  Platea is a bar on the ground floor of an old colonial house.  You can find jazz performance and salsa bands playing nightly, and it is located across the old Club Union.  La Casona is an artsy cultural center/bar.  Besides art exposition, it is also a center for independent and foreign films.

A makeshift stage for the performances in the patio and the great service makes La Casona a very hip place without been snobby or pricey.  Nobody would look down at you if you are not dress to impress. La Casona is located in Plaza Herrera.

Your walk through the Casco Viejo is not complete without a visit to the Presidential Palace.  Originally this building housed the “Aduanas” or customs offices.  It was remodeled in 1922 by the supervision of the president Dr. Belisario Porras and the design of the architect Leonardo Villanueva, who gave the building a more contemporary style following the standards of the Spanish architecture of the time.

This exquisite building has numerous focal points that you would be delighted no to miss, like:  the Moorish columns cover with shell nacre, the fountain in the central patio of Andalusia style, the Yellow Room, and the Moorish Room.  The Presidential Palace it’s also known as The Herons Palace.  The Panamanian poet Ricardo Miro brought two white herons to president Porras and since that day there have always been herons in the Andalusia patio.
