Before all the prognoses the Panama selection overthrew the champion of the area Costa Rica, and it became for the first time champion of the Cup of Nations DIGICEL. The Panamanians celebrated an end with flavor of revenge and won the favorites by the route of the penitentiaries with a marker of 5 – 3. The final, played in the Honduran capital of Tegucigalpa, ended in a 0-0 tie after regulation. It was the first championship victory in the history for the Panamanian selection.
When was seen by international television the victory of the selection of Panama, the Panamanians get ready to celebrate the title with a great caravan of vehicles crossing the 50th street; one of the main routes of the Panama City. Panama filled of joy and celebration with the victory of the national team. Hundreds of happy Panamanians and dressed with red t-shirts filled the 50th street and other streets near the same. It did not matter that was Sunday, the Panamanians decided to party all night the triumph with music, drinks and dance demonstrating to the entire world that the one that persevere reaches. Panama has become cradle of champions in different competitions throughout the last year and in soccer was not the exception. Congratulations to the 2009 team champion, the Panama selection, and to the red tide that throughout the years has supported the team to the 100%.
I’m sure the owners and the promoters were happy because DUBAI turned out to be a total success! Since day one, not another single soul fitted inside this new Panama City, Panama night club but the party lovers’ sure partied outside the club! They didn’t care; not even the rain could stop the party connoisseurs from enjoying this wild party night!
On the opening day owners, promoters and staff were going crazy since early in the morning to ensure that this turned out the way they had planned. All of their efforts surely paid off; though people didn’t start to show up until late at night once the first ones started arriving, everyone else did too! From celebrities to regular people, everyone sure had a blast! Who wouldn’t? DUBAI really made it big with a 3 day party celebration which included performances from top Panama artists LOS RABANES and the ROOKIE. The night club is really nice inside; with a two story level, a bar area, and a table area, they offer a wide variety of music, drinks and lots of lights for everyone’s likes so you will surely spend a great night at DUBAI. Cover charges and drinks have a very accessible price, but if you want to walk in with the elite of the club, feel free to contact one their promoters Diego Villarreal (who kindly offered to Party in Panama to put down his name as a contact). As of my luck, I could only go on Saturday, but it sure made up for the rest of the events because, of course, the ROOKIE show rocked the house and made it all worth it! In summary, if you are looking for an endless Panama wild party for the best value, you should definitely try DUBAI! My friends and I really enjoyed the party that went all night long; but then again, you are the one who sets the mood! For more information, don’t hesitate to contact Party in Panama!
Istmo is known in Panama City, Panama because it brews its own beers! These beers are named after some of the Provinces of Panama: Coclé, Chiriquí, Colón and Veraguas. These beers are very tasty and with different alcohol percentage from 4.5% to 6% so you have a wide variety to choose from, though I noticed they don’t serve any other national beers. When we first walked in I wanted to check out the interior; it is very cozy and relaxed. Then my friends and I chose to sit outside while we waited for a waiter come help us. One of my friends – who have been there before – told the waiter we were knew there and then he brought us complimentary samples of the beers. He placed them on top of an explanatory sheet which describes the kind of beer and then he mentioned the percentage of alcohol in each beer.
Istmo is located at Ave. Eusebio A. Morales and Via Veneto in El Cangrejo, Panama City, Panama. In general, Istmo is a nice way to get away from the usual pickup scene! Their prices are very accessible and their service is good!

SEE Y’ALL @ DUBAI! “La Terraza” or The Terrace for its English translation is a bar located on the famous Via Veneto in Panama City, Panama. Via Veneto is known because of the Hotel & Casino Veneto where a lot of locals and tourists go to party and to meet beautiful, sexy, wild Panama girls. There are a lot of places to party there, but last weekend I went to The Terrace. As I said, it is located at the end of Via Veneto close to Via España. The Terrace is a bar owned by a foreigner who never thought of having a business in Panama City, Panama, but that loved the place so much it didn’t want it to close. The Terrace has moved to many different places, but now is back to Via Veneto where Unplugged (a night club) used to be. Even though it is not a huge place, I felt cozy and welcome as soon as I walked in. A person, whom I’m not sure if it’s the owner, welcomed me and my friends to the place. There are tables and chairs surrounding the bar area; further inside there’s a pool table and there are tables close to the sidewalk where you can smoke freely. The music is varied and a little after we arrived a nice gentleman started playing and singing live music with his guitar. It was awesome! This was a nice way to enjoy a couple of drinks with my friends, hang out without having to be in an overcrowded place, and enjoy some live music. Go to now The Terrace now, I’m sure it will soon become a new trendy spot in Panama City, Panama! This was going to be my first patriotic party celebration after 4 years of not being in Panama. I was very excited that after such a long time I was going to be able to go out to the streets to watch the schools and their respective bands participate in the patriotic parades… for my misfortune, I got sick on October 31st. I couldn’t even celebrate Halloween! I got stuck in my apartment all the time without being able to do anything. I couldn’t believe that after such a long wait I couldn’t even prepare my plastic bottle filled with “seco” – Panama hard liquor and coca cola that I was going to drink (secretly) while I was going to see the parades on the street. I got pretty upset, but like everyone says “things happen for a reason”.
But it brought me way much more nostalgia to watch on the news all the violence generated during this festivity that is supposed to be of celebration and a party, not of death and slamming. What a pity that during one of the most important days for our country Panama we have to go through the humiliation and the pain of being witnesses to more violence. It’s a shame that we still have to talk about the “dianas” or reveille causing chaos, attracting more violence and tarnishing Panama City good name. In spite that in this 105th Independence anniversary Panama City had used the slogan “Ciudad de Panama – una gran ciudad” or “Panama City – a great city” in English people has come to question if Panama City truly is a great city. Certainly not everyone is involved in this unacceptable behavior but, what else can we expect? When would the Panama that we all want finally come to reality? How much longer do we have to wait to be able to enjoy a patriotic party worthy of this beautiful nation? When would the day come that we can really see and feel the change? I hope it will be soon, because this is a beautiful country that deserves to be known for the amazing nature that it carries and the economic potential that it has, not like a city of violence and strife. Let’s hope that November 10th will not be celebrated this way… Viva Panama! |
