This is the only time the “Golden Girl” shows her Gran City Pop Tour in Panama. If you missed her last show, make sure you book your tickets in advance because they will be going fast. La Casona, located next door of the old Maria Imaculada School near Plaza Herrera at the Casco Viejo, has served for the past two years as an art gallery, concert hall, dance club and art school for the local children. Last Thursday I went there to a jazz event of a friend of mine. It was just awesome! It is a great place if you want to be relaxed and listen to great and live music. If you are a lover of jazz, reggae roots, calypso or rock music, La Casona is your place. You know when you have been to a place that totally surprises you, a bar or a club that is so different and weird that is cool? Well, La Casona is all that; is the Panama City old gem of excitement and energy.
Behind the peeling walls and French façade there is a giant open space: all their interior walls have been torn down and what is left is this fantastic open space with a pumping music stage, a bar and tons of panamanian party people. The atmosphere is totally chill and the $2 bucks beers are the best deals in Casco Viejo. So I invite you to grab a cold drink, listen to a variety of music flavors and enjoy what Casco Viejo is really all about.
I’m sure the owners and the promoters were happy because DUBAI turned out to be a total success! Since day one, not another single soul fitted inside this new Panama City, Panama night club but the party lovers’ sure partied outside the club! They didn’t care; not even the rain could stop the party connoisseurs from enjoying this wild party night!
On the opening day owners, promoters and staff were going crazy since early in the morning to ensure that this turned out the way they had planned. All of their efforts surely paid off; though people didn’t start to show up until late at night once the first ones started arriving, everyone else did too! From celebrities to regular people, everyone sure had a blast! Who wouldn’t? DUBAI really made it big with a 3 day party celebration which included performances from top Panama artists LOS RABANES and the ROOKIE. The night club is really nice inside; with a two story level, a bar area, and a table area, they offer a wide variety of music, drinks and lots of lights for everyone’s likes so you will surely spend a great night at DUBAI. Cover charges and drinks have a very accessible price, but if you want to walk in with the elite of the club, feel free to contact one their promoters Diego Villarreal (who kindly offered to Party in Panama to put down his name as a contact). As of my luck, I could only go on Saturday, but it sure made up for the rest of the events because, of course, the ROOKIE show rocked the house and made it all worth it! In summary, if you are looking for an endless Panama wild party for the best value, you should definitely try DUBAI! The “Golden Girl” Paulina Rubio brings her Gran City Pop Tour to Panama. The six-time winner of Billboard Latin Music Awards has achieved double gold, double platinum status in the U.S. and nominated for Grammy and Latin Grammy awards. Paulina Rubio has two singles from the Gran City Pop album in the Billboard Hot Latin Tracks list. Fans of “Pau” in Panama and new comers to the Latin pop genre will feel right at home dancing and singing along during the concert her new songs, like “Causa y Efecto” and “Ni Rosas Ni Juguetes” in one of the few presentations in Latin America of her concert.
Akon is coming to Panama City! On Wednesday January 20, Akon will be at Figaly Convention Center. Akon is the son of jazz percussionist Mor Thiam. Akon became famous in 2004 with the hit song “Locked up”. In 2005, he consolidated his position as an international star with the singles “I Wanna Love You” and “Smack That”. He also collaborated with other recording artists like Young Jeezy, Eminem, Snoop Dog, and Gwen Stefani. Today, Akon has 6 Grammy Awards nominations, and he has produced hits for singers like Leona Lewis, Lady Gaga, and T-Pain.
Comando Tiburon at People Ultra Lounge this Saturday December 12! Come on over and have the best time with these Panamanian reggaeton singers. Have a good time with Comando Tiburón hits like: Te Pillé, Falso Llanto, Impacto, Pa que seas seria, and No voy a Llorar. Comando Tiburón had travel to places like Ecuador, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Mexico and United States, where they have a good group of followers. The most successful trance DJ in the world is coming to Panama. Tiesto will be performing at the Figali Convention Center on December 9. He has been nominated for a Grammy in 2007, he has worldwide hit singles, and he performed at the opening ceremony of the Athens Olympics in 2004. 
“Moods” is a relatively classic discotheque in Panama. Since it’s opening around 3 years ago, it has become the usual place for many Panama party-goers. It has both regular and VIP areas. The VIP is on the second floor, right in front of the stage, where many bands cover popular songs to gain exposure. There is an additional area at the side, called the “Moods Bar”. Here you’ll find more tables than dance floor area, suited for drinking with friends. “Moods Panama” has quite accessible prices; the cover fee is usually from 5 to 10 dollars. Inside, the drinks are also reasonably priced.
To party in the “Moods Panama” VIP area, a bottle of liquor must be purchased, which is usually priced higher than in the regular area. You can also reserve tables or the VIP area in advance for private parties. A purchase of a few bottles is usually required and to leave the names of the party attendees. It’s seriously recommended that you visit “Moods Panama”. It has great ambience, the music is really varied and of course lots of good looking Panama girls. The party in Panama City starts early, but if you’re feeling tired from all the dancing in “Moods Panama”, step into the “Moods Bar” take a seat and enjoy a couple of beers to calm down.
There are always specials going on at the SKY Bar in Panama. On Tuesdays, Ladies Night, they offer 2 x 1 Champagne from 5 – 10pm.
